Fisker to sell and possibly build Ocean EVs in China, expects first deliveries in early 2024

Fisker Inc. announced that it will soon begin selling (and possibly producing) its flagship Ocean SUV in China. Executives from the American automaker recently visited Shanghai and discussed collaboration opportunities in the country, which has enabled plans for a delivery center opening this year followed by first Ocean deliveries in 2024.

Reservation holders who have been waiting patiently for Fisker Ocean deliveries to begin here in the states may see the new SUV in their driveways as early as this month… as long as they sprang for one of the top tier trims. Fisker is reporting that the Ocean Extreme SUV has been certified for US sales by the EPA and garnered a 360 mile estimated range. Not bad.

Fisker Inc. has just confirmed regulatory certification in Europe that will allow sales and deliveries of the first Ocean SUVs to reservation holders. Fisker has taken a unique dual homologation process for both Europe and the US simultaneously, and while deliveries overseas appear just over a week away, reservation holders in the US might have a wait quite a bit longer.

According to its financial results report for Q3 2022 released today, Fisker remains on schedule to begin production of its flagship Ocean SUV two weeks from now. The American EV automaker is also reporting over 62,000 combined reservations and orders ahead of a four phase production plan that’s expected to produce 42,400 units by the end of 2023. Outside of the Ocean, Fisker also shared a progress report of its second EV – the PEAR.

Fisker asks Ocean One reservation holders for additional $5,000 downpayment to secure their order

Fisker Inc. is asking its Ocean One reservation holders to shell out an extra $5,000 in a nonrefundable deposit for a “pre-order” on top of the $250 previously required to secure a reservation for the electric SUV. According to the American automaker, the $5,000 is considered a downpayment and applies to reservations for the Ocean One Launch Edition only.
