The highly-anticipated GMC Hummer EV EarthCruiser made its official debut Thursday. The electric pickup is fitted with EarthCruiser’s overland upfit solution, offering the ultimate zero-emission adventure vehicle with self-charging capabilities via solar power.

General Motors’ GM Defense division has unveiled a new military electric vehicle based on the GMC Hummer EV. The vehicle has now gone full circle from military Humvee to Hummer to Hummer EV to military Humvee electric.

General Motors looks to revive its electric “supertruck” with a new 3X trim for both the electric truck and SUV models. The 2023 GMC Hummer EV pickup 3X is designed to take the journey further with up to 355 GM-estimated miles driving range.

Dongfeng has unveiled what is being referred to as a “Hummer EV knock-off,” and it features its own impressive four-electric-motor powertrain and crab walk.

General Motors marque GMC recently shared that it has received over 65,000 reservations for its electrified Hummer pickup and SUV, much higher than the American automaker’s initial expectations. As a result, GMC is expediting Hummer EV production to keep up with the growing consumer demand. That being said, the SUV version of the Hummer is not scheduled to deliver until 2023, and new pickup orders won’t be fulfilled until 2024 under current production timelines.

GM has initiated a recall on the Hummer EV electric pickup truck over bad software affecting the taillights. However, it can’t fix the problem with a software update, and owners will have to go to dealerships to potentially have their taillights replaced. The good news is that GMC is early in its rollout and all vehicles were fixed before the information went up on NHTSA’s website.

General Motor’s streak of newsworthy movements continues as we head into Super Bowl weekend.
